North West Castle

North West Castle is a family owned and managed hotel located on the edge of Stranraer town centre. The hotel was formerly the home of Sir John Ross, the famous Arctic explorer. This 3 star hotel has 73 bedrooms including family accommodation and many rooms overlook Loch Ryan. Residents have use of the hotel leisure facilities and Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the hotel. There is a large free car park. The curling rink is open from October - March. The hotel is just 10 minutes’ drive from the StenaLine ferry terminal at Cairnryan where there are regular daily sailings to Northern Ireland. Whether you are touring the new South West Coastal Touring Route, which travels through 300 miles of spectacular scenery, with over 200 miles hugging the coastline, visiting one of the many gardens or a distillery, North West Castle is an ideal base for exploring the many attractions that Dumfries & Galloway has to offer.
