Three stops - three sides of Mallorca
Driving around Mallorca gives you the freedom to see more than just beaches. On this route, you get three different experiences: calm coves in Cala San Vicente, lush mountains in Port de Sóller, and vibrant city life in Palma de Mallorca. A road trip in Mallorca is perfect for those who want to explore the island at a pleasant pace – with time for both detours and tranquility.
Cala San Vicente – vacation pace by the sea
The journey starts at the northernmost point, in Cala San Vicente. A small resort with crystal-clear water, calm coves, and a relaxed pace. Here, your journey begins with morning swims, snorkeling, and dinner with a sea view.
Evenings are calm but charming. Sit down at a cozy restaurant for fresh fish overlooking the bay, or have a drink on the terrace as the sun sets behind the mountains.
If you need a bit of variety, it's only about a 15-minute drive to Pollença, where you can stroll among cobblestone streets and climb the stairs to Calvari for a beautiful view over the entire valley.
Port de Sóller – hikes and everyday life in the mountains
When you turn into the Sóller valley, the landscape changes. The road winds through orange groves and high hills, and when you arrive at Port de Sóller, or Puerto de Sóller as it is also called, the sea awaits, surrounded by mountains on all sides. Here, it's easy to combine swimming with nature experiences.
Take the tram up to Sóller town for a market in the square and coffee among the locals. Hike the old trail to Deià, one of Mallorca's most talked-about villages, or rent an e-bike and explore the surroundings.
Don't miss Fornalutx, often called Mallorca's most beautiful village, just 15 minutes away by car. In the evenings, people gather down in the harbor for dinner with a view of the water.
Palma de Mallorca – finish with city life
Your Mallorca road trip ends with a couple of nights in Palma, where you can easily settle in among tapas bars, art galleries, and promenades along the sea.
The old town is perfect to explore on foot, with narrow alleys, courtyards, and historic sandstone buildings. Don't miss a visit to the cathedral La Seu, which towers against the sky – both impressive from the outside and beautiful inside. Nearby, there are also several museums and galleries for those who want to delve into art and history.
For those who like to be active, there are both bike paths along the water and the opportunity to paddle a kayak in the calm waters near the coast. And if you want to take it easy? Sit in a square, order something refreshing, and let the city pass by.
Create your own road trip in Mallorca
The best thing about Sembo is that you can tailor your trip just the way you want. Want more life and movement? Swap Cala San Vicente for Port de Pollença or Alcúdia. Are you more of a city person than a mountain goat? Add a night in Palma for more time among shops, eateries, and culture. And if you like wine – make a stop at one of the vineyards in Binissalem, on the way between Sóller and Palma.
